Vizcaya is a local source of constant inspiration, and I actually toured it last week with a friend from out of town. It refreshed my memory a lot on this wonderful house museum, but also reminded me that Paul Chalfin, responsible for the overall vision, had an eye towards putting things together that was revolutionary for the time. Not slavish recreations of historic interiors, but creative mixes that were appropriate for the house and the environment! Something we should all strive for. My favorite guest room is Cathay...I am always wild for those little bells on the bed hangings.
